People are Talking

I am writing merely to say thank you for all of your hard work in getting Adventure Island playground started. Your vision for an universally accessible playground, and passion for equality has created a place where people of all abilities can come together to enjoy community and fellowship. Many of our Developmental Therapy Tech's and IBI providers rave about Adventure Island every time it comes up in conversation. One of our clients with autism asks his provider "go new park day?" every time she comes to pick him up. The provider tells me she sees many many children and adults from all walks of life at Adventure Island. Our clients are asking to go to Adventure Island instead of Boondocks! It is so fantastic to see Adventure Island becoming such an integral part of our community, and to see kids and adults from all over the Treasure Valley and beyond come together at Adventure Island. Again, thank you for your passion and persistence in seeing Adventure Island become a reality.

Sincerely,

"The park is awesome... Needless to say, my two kids love the park... probably too much!!! "C'mon Daddy"....."

Yesterday morning, I took Mason to the Adventure Island Playground... That place is simply amazing! Mason had so much fun there yesterday that I took him there again today.

I just wanted to thank you for telling us about it and to thank Dana for helping to make it a reality. It is so nice to have a playground where I don't have to worry about Mason falling on hard pavement or on gravel (as many playgrounds have beneath them). The playground equipment provides just the right amount of entertainment for Mason. Whenever I ask him if he wants to go there he starts shouting, "Play! Play!" and giggling hysterically.

It is also nice that I have a place to take Mason where he can interact with other children near his age. The only other option is to go to play groups facilitated by stay-at-home moms... and it isn't exactly appropriate for myself, as a man, to go and spend time with a group of women. At the playground, although the majority of parents there in the mornings are women, I am able to allow Mason to play without involving myself with them.
